Cubs Big Day Out - Chatham Historic Dockyard
3rd October 2009

Kent Cub Scouts take over the Chatham Historic Dockyard for the day!
From the Spanish Armada to the Falklands Crisis β The Historic Dockyard, Chatham is the place where legends were created. Explore the most complete dockyard of the Age of Sail to survive anywhere in the world. Discover how a wooden warship was built, climb aboard a self-righting lifeboat, swing through the hatches of a submarine, experience the open bridge on a WW2 destroyer, twist your own piece of rope, have a go at the hands βon exhibits and let off steam in the play areas β this and much more is at the dockyard. In addition to this we have arranged short cruises aboard the Paddle Steamer Kingswear Castle. You will sail back in time up the river towards Upnor Castle and return to the dockyard.
