New growth in the Group

1st April 2010

New growth in the Group...

It has recently come to light that in a deep dark corner of our grounds there is a very rare tree. A cutting was taken and sent off to the Royal Horticultural Society HQ at Kew Gardens for identification. Earlier on today Kew confirmed that it was of the species PILAR LOFO.

The properties of this tree are unique. It grows rapidly and once harvested it regenerates itself to produce more fruit.

Even the fruit itself is everlasting, it doesn't need much tlc, doesn't go off and comes fully trained. It doesn't need much watering or 'cutting out the deadwood'. The fruit can be used is a variety of ways from making the tea, to organising your life fo you.

The plan is to plant the cutting in another part of the grounds and see if it takes root, we are planning to plant this tree today, sometime this morniing before midday. If you can make it please email us at ivebeenhad@1steandfscouts.org.uk

Kew have been very kind and sent a picture of a fully grown one which they were sent from the tree's creator DR ALFI POLASOY.  Click here to see a picture
