Farningham Woods Walk
19th June 2010

Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers, Leaders, parents and a couple of lesser spotted Group Executive members took part in the inaugural Farningham Woods Walk on 19th June to raise money for the development of the District Campsite at Farningham Woods and the Group itself.
27 members of the Group chose between 2, 5 and 10 mile routes, walking through the Darent Valley from the Anthony Roper School in Eynsford taking in local landmarks such as Lullingstone Roman Villa, Lullingstone Visitors Centre, Luulingstone Golf Course, Eagle Heights & Farningham and back to the School.
The Scouts & Explorers were taking part to raise funds for activities on their Summer Expedition to Guernsey. The Cubs and Beavers who took part will have the sponsor money allocated to an activity of their choice. The other half of the sponsorship money will go to projects aimed at developing the campsite facilities as the District Campsite at Farningham Woods. All who took part received a commemorative certificate of completion.
As a Group we raised £975.00 and walked a total of 120 miles!!
The event will be repeated next year and we hope that we can increase the numbers taking part so the event becomes a regular part of the Group Fundrasing activities.
